LG Energy Solution, KAIST develop lithium-metal battery for improved driving range
The team of researchers have achieved an energy density sufficient to deliver an EV driving range of up to 900 km on a single charge
South Korea’s largest battery-maker LG Energy Solution Ltd. (LGES) and the Korea Advanced Institute of Science & Technology (KAIST) have jointly developed a lithium-metal battery (LMB) technology that promises a 50% increase in electric vehicle driving range as compared with conventional lithium-ion battery cells, according to a news report published by The Korea Economic Daily on Dec. 7.
