The Car Cutaways Program
The Car Cutaways Program enables you to submit details of components, parts, modules, systems, and technology that your company supplies to OEMs. By submitting responses, you can be featured in S&P Global Mobility exclusive Car Cutaways, which highlights suppliers’ contributions in supplying vehicles. These Cutaways are published on some of the most prominent automotive media portals and magazines. The Cutaways are also published on S&P Global Mobility AutoTechInsight portal.
Q: How do I register for the survey for the first time if I have an AutoTechInsight account?
There are five steps:
- Click on the survey link (this will redirect you to the latest Cutaways Program page).
- Click Start Survey.
- On the Login/Register page, submit your email under the “Already Registered” tab OR log in via the Connect link. First-time users will be redirected to the Profile page.
- Complete the necessary information and click “Save changes”.
- Start the survey and see the model page information.
Q: How do I register for the survey for the first time if I do not have an AutoTechInsight account?
There are eight steps:
- Click on the survey link (this will redirect you to the latest Cutaways Program page).
- Click Start Survey.
- First-time users will be redirected to the Login/Register page.
- Submit your email under the “Need an account” tab.
- Once submitted you will get an automated email to confirm your ID.
- To activate your profile, click on the link sent to your email address. This will redirect you to the Profile setup page.
- Fill in the necessary information once and save your changes.
- Start the survey and see the model page information.
Q: I am not able to register on the survey. The system shows me an error message.
Access to the Car Cutaways Program can be completed easily. For registration, you can use the same email address for the Car Cutaways Survey registration and any other active S&P Global Mobility account logins. However, you can choose/set up a separate password when creating a profile for the Car Cutaways Survey. By submitting your email address, you will automatically get a profile creation link on the email submitted under the “Need an account” section. Follow the instructions, and you will arrive at the vehicle information submission page.
Q: Do I need to set up my profile and register every time I take part in a new survey?
You only need to set up your profile once. Keep the login credentials handy and use the same information to log in for future surveys. When you get a new survey email request and link, click on “Start Survey” and submit your saved login credentials under the “Already Registered” tab. Once done, you will automatically be directed to the vehicle information page.
Q: I remember my login ID, but I am unable to get access to create a new profile password OR the "forgot your password" link is not working for me.
There is a chance you are using the same email address to login to IHS Markit services and to access the Car Cutaways survey. In that case, please note, your Cutaway Survey login can be separate and independent of other S&P Global Mobility logins. If you face any issues in login or want to reset your password for the Cutaways program, follow the steps below:
- Make sure the top right corner of the screen shows “Log in” and NOT your account name. If it shows your account name, please log out.
- Once you are on the survey page and it shows “Log in”, click on ‘Start Survey’ at the bottom. This step will take you to our Cutaway Survey login page.
- On this page, fill in your login credentials. In case you have forgotten your password, just click on the “Forgot your password” link.
- You should now be receiving an automated link to set up a new password. Click on the link sent to your email and log in again. You should have access to the survey.
Q: How do I take the survey if I already have a profile created?
If you have already created your profile by taking the last survey(s), all you need now is the login credentials i.e., email ID and password. You can submit these details on the login page under the “Already Registered” tab.
Q: How do I see the responses that I have shared in the past?
On the left side of the Survey home page, you will find the “Previous Responses” tab. This will show all your responses to all the past surveys you participated in. Please ensure you are logged in before checking these details.
Q: What if my company does not supply to any of the vehicles that are a part of the survey?
The list of surveyed vehicles is already available on the landing page of the current month’s survey. Please go through the list before taking the survey and check the survey month and year carefully. You only need to submit your responses against the vehicle of interest. The rest of the vehicles can be skipped.
Q: I remember my ID but not the password.
Click on the “Forgot your Password” link placed under the “Already Registered” tab when you log in.
