Global auto battery cell production capacity tracker

The Global auto battery cell production capacity tracker -  June 2023 is an update of the EV battery capacity forecast developed by S&P Global Mobility in February 2022. The tracker captures plant-level lithium-ion cell capacity for 2021-2028 period and tracks 188 plants in five key regions— Greater China, Europe, North America, Japan/Korea, and South Asia. The database also gives details on what will be the volume from LV segment at each of these plants and the expected level of utilization.

The accompanying report analysis the database to offer intelligence on key suppliers and regions to understand where the market is headed in terms of the installed capacity for Li-ion battery cells. It also talks about the promising startups and their strategy in terms of building production capabilities and how they could influence the demand and supply of Li-ion cells.
