Australian governments provide Alcoa funding for new low-carbon alumina refining technology
The electrification of the process would also allow residual energy to be captured and reused
American aluminum producer Alcoa announced via press release on 11 April that Australian governments had provided it with USD7.7 million in funding to conduct pilot trials on a carbon reduction technology for its alumina-refining process.
