Automakers voluntarily commit to equipping all vehicles with rear seat reminders by model year 2025
The move aims to eliminate harm or, in extreme case, death to kids left in cars in extreme weather conditions
The Association of Global Automakers and the Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers—the two major associations representing almost all vehicle manufacturers in the United States— have announced their commitment to equip nearly their all new vehicles in the country with the rear seat reminders by model year 2025. The initiative expands upon growing efforts to increase public awareness regarding dangers of leaving children alone in a vehicle.
