Heatstroke is one of the leading causes of noncrash fatalities among children in vehicles in the United States. According to NoHeatStroke.org, 873 children have died since 1998 because of heatstroke in vehicles. This year (as of 8 October), 24 children have died from heatstroke in vehicles in the country.
