BMW launches high-performance D3 IT platform for autonomous driving
Says, in 2021, the production version of BMW Vision iNEXT will become the first model from BMW Group to offer Level 3 system as an option
BMW has launched a new high-performance D3 (Data-Driven Development) information technology (IT) platform for autonomous driving, the company said in a press release on 27 March. According to the German automaker, D3 forms the basis for the development and validation of highly and fully automated driving. The platform is a vital tool for securing safety and reliability of the Level 3 and higher autonomy in BMW vehicles, beginning 2021.
