BMW launches premium ride-hailing service under ReachNow in Chinese city Chengdu

New ride-hailing service compliments BMW’s car-sharing service in Chengdu which was started in December 2017

BMW has launched a new premium ride-hailing service under its ReachNow brand in Chengdu, the capital city of Sichuan province, China, the German automaker said in a press release on 14 December. The new mobility service compliments BMW’s existing car-sharing service in Chengdu, also operated under ReachNow brand, which the company launched in partnership with EVCARD in December 2017. BMW has launched the new ride-hailing service with a fleet of 200 units of 5-Series, half of which are plug-in hybrid variant. Customers will be able to avail new ride-hailing service using BMW’s ReachNow smartphone app.
