Volkswagen selects Cubic Telecom for connectivity service in new Touareg
Cubic Telecom previously offered connected car solutions for Audi and Porsche brands
Volkswagen (VW) has selected Cubic Telecom as the technology partner to deliver connected car solutions in its Touareg sport utility vehicle (SUV), the Ireland-based telecom company said in a press release on 21 May. Cubic’s embedded technology in new Touareg manages data delivery across Europe to enable VW’s Car-Net online services, which are integrated with ‘Innovision Cockpit’, the new infotainment system of the SUV. The company’s data platform will support services such as navigation, mapping and map updates, route guidance, news, traffic info and weather, fuel and parking information. It will also offer Wi-Fi hotspot and internet radio streaming.
