Samsung SDI's recall affects Ford, FCA and Audi plug-in hybrids due to the risk of power loss and fires

Samsung SDI has issued a recall for up to 180,196 high-voltage hybrid vehicle battery packs due to internal cell failures that pose a risk of loss of drive power and an increased risk of fire, as reported by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
