Faulty 12-volt batteries from Camel Battery of China lead to unexpected stops or failed starts, affecting Broncos and Mavericks

Ford Motor is recalling 272,827 Bronco SUVs and Maverick pickup trucks due to a power issue arising from defective 12-volt batteries, which could lead to the vehicles stopping unexpectedly or failing to start, The Associated Press reported on January 24. The affected vehicles were produced between February 2021 and October 2023, a period after which Ford ceased using the problematic batteries. The issue is believed to impact only 1% of the vehicles that were fitted with these batteries.
