GaN OBC changes the game for EV automotive applications
GaN Systems announced a new GaN-based 11kW/800V onboard-charger (OBC) reference design at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) 2023, which delivers 36% higher power density and up to 15% lower Bill of Materials (BOM) cost compared to Silicon Carbide (SiC) transistors, according to a press release on March 20.
