In February 2022, colleagues from the S&P Global Mobility’s Supply Chain & Technology team were invited to visit the UK Battery Industrialisation Centre (UKBIC) in Coventry. The purpose of the visit was to gain an understanding of UKBIC’s role in the development of the battery manufacturing sector in the United Kingdom, as well as a chance to view the facilities that the UKBIC have in-house.

UKBIC is a national battery manufacturing development facility, commissioned to aid and accelerate battery manufacturing in the UK, as well as educating and upskilling the battery sector workforce in preparation for mass production. UKBIC is a publicly funded, open access facility, funded by the Faraday Battery Challenge under the watch of UK Research and Innovation, a non-departmental public body sponsored by the Department for Business, Energy, and Industrial Strategy (BEIS).
