The service, featuring Gaode Taxi, aims to expand with more brands, leveraging its 600 million daily active users

On January 24, Douyin, the Chinese counterpart of TikTok, introduced a new ride-hailing service within its app. This service can be found in the My Wallet section and initially features only Gaode Taxi (powered by AutoNavi) as its provider. However, the app hints at the future inclusion of additional mobility services by displaying a more brands coming soon notice. Douyin's entry into the ride-hailing market resembles the strategy of WeChat, which aggregates multiple service providers, prominently featuring DiDi while also incorporating other brands such as T3 Go and Huaxiaozhu, covering a range of services from carpooling to freight delivery.
