Toyota receives $4.5 million for EV battery circularity project from US DOE

Funded by the US Department of Energy, the project aims to enhance the lifecycle of lithium-ion batteries through innovative reuse and recycling methods

Toyota Engineering & Manufacturing North America, Inc., part of Toyota Motor North America R&D, has been selected for a $4.5 million funding grant from the US Department of Energy's Advanced Research Projects Agency-Energy. This funding is allocated under the Catalyzing Innovative Research for Circular Use of Long-lived Advanced Rechargeables Program aimed at bolstering a domestic, circular supply chain for electric vehicle batteries.
