Subaru, Panasonic begin setting up joint battery plant in Japan
Panasonic’s annual production capacity for battery cells at Suminoe and Oizumi is expected to reach 20 GWh by 2030
Subaru Corp. and Panasonic Energy Co. Ltd. plan to jointly work on establishing a lithium-ion battery supply network for the carmaker, including jointly setting up a new battery factory in Oizumi, Gunma Prefecture, Japan, the two companies said in a joint announcement on Sept. 6.
