Electrification is driving demand of fixed panoramic sunroofs in vehicles
However, carmakers will continue to offer openable sunroofs as an option to differentiate their vehicles from rivals
The light-vehicle sunroof market has seen robust growth over the past five to eight years. Rising consumer aspiration to have this feature in their vehicles, especially in key markets of mainland China, Europe and North America, has been the biggest growth driver. The trend is expected to continue in the current era of electromobility. However, vehicle electrification is leading to a clear shift in the demand mix of sunroofs. Automakers are preferring to equip their EVs with fixed panoramic glass roofs, also called fixed transparent modules (FTMs).
