Germany is heavily dependent on the import of critical materials, making Europe’s largest economy severely vulnerable to external supply chain shocks

The German government is planning to set up a state fund of up to €2 billion to support mining activities of critical raw materials that are necessary for the country’s green transition, according to a news report published by Bloomberg on April 19.
