Hitachi and Hitachi Astemo jointly develop in-wheel EV direct-drive system
The in-wheel system’s motor is said to feature a world-class power density of 2.5 kW/kg.
Japanese companies Hitachi and Hitachi Astemo announced via press release on 1 October that they had jointly developed a compact lightweight direct-drive system for the increasingly popular electric vehicle (EV) segment.
