How the upcoming ESC regulation will revolutionize the Indian driving assistance system market
While the upcoming regulation on ESC systems will drastically improve vehicle safety, it is also expected to cause large-scale impacts on the tier-1 and tier-2 ESC, DAS, and ADAS component supplier market.
The importance of active safety systems in India came into focus in 2020 when consultancy Transport Research Laboratory (TRL) published a report that outlined the costs and benefits of electronic stability control (ESC) systems in G20 countries. While final dates have not been officially announced yet, the Indian government is expected to mandate fitment of ESC systems in all new cars in 2022.
