Semiconductor chips are critical components in new automobiles spanning from advanced infotainment systems to basic equipment such as power steering and brakes. Vehicles have thousands of semiconductors worth hundreds of US dollars, depending on the car and its options. Therefore, the semiconductor crisis that began in the first quarter of 2021 has brought assembly lines to a halt worldwide.
