About 90% of the factories operated by the 23 local automakers had already resumed operations by 11 March

Chinese automakers are operating at less than 40% of capacity, according to the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM), Nikkei Asian Review reported today (13 March). According to the association, about 90% of the factories operated by the 23 local automakers had resumed by Wednesday (11 March). Of this total 23 Chinese automakers, 18 had their factories fully up and running, the report said. Automakers are operating their factories below normal production capacity mainly due to shortage of auto parts from their suppliers.
