O2’s 5G network to support connected and autonomous vehicle testing in UK
UK-based telecom company will make available its 2.3GHz and 3.4GHz spectrum available to AutoAir which is conducting testing at the Millbrook testing facility for the next 12 months starting from June 2019
O2 will be the network provider of 5G connectivity for the testing and development of connected and autonomous (CAV) technology at Millbrook Proving Ground in Bedfordshire (United Kingdom), the company said in a press release. The UK-based telecom company will make available its 2.3GHz and 3.4GHz spectrum available to AutoAir which is conducting testing at the Millbrook testing facility for the next 12 months starting from June 2019. The spectrum will support an on-site network consisting 59 sites and 89 small cells operated by DenseAir. As part of the agreement, O2 will integrate the sites and small cells into its public infrastructure.
