Japanese supplier integrates Cepton lidar into its vehicle lighting systems

Cepton Technologies has entered an agreement with Japan-based automotive lighting supplier Koito Manufacturing to supply its Micro-Motion Technology (MMT) miniaturized lidar solution, the US-based company said in a press release on 27 July. Unlike most of the lidars available in the market currently, Cepton’s lidar sensor is free of mechanical rotation and frictional wear. The company’s lidar produces high-resolution imaging of a vehicle’s surrounding to detect objects at a distance up to 300 meters. Koito will integrate Cepton’s lidar into its automotive lighting system for autonomous driving applications.
