Volvo Cars selects TomTom to power ‘Drive Me’ program
Swedish automaker selected TomTom as global provider of location and navigation content and services last year
Volvo Cars has selected TomTom’s HD Map to power the first phase of the ‘Drive Me’ program, the Netherlands-based mapping specialist said in a press release on 8 March. TomTom’s HD Map provides highly accurate, three dimensional (3D) map, which is vital for autonomous vehicles. The company’s advanced mapping solution helps autonomous vehicles precisely locate themselves on the road, and extend the range of their view while enabling safer and more efficient driving scenarios.
