Volkswagen (VW) says future of cars is as "mobile devices", GM commits to ICV technology in China
Development of ICV technology is aimed at alleviating issues felt by drivers in the nine Chinese megacities
Volkswagen (VW) chairman Matthias Müller has said that the modern car has to be viewed as a "mobile device" and the car of tomorrow will be electric, intelligent, and autonomous. Speaking at the International Forum for Innovation and Emerging Industries Development in Shanghai, held on 1−3 November, Müller said, "The car of tomorrow is more efficient, more intelligent and more comfortable and safer than ever before. It is electric and in a few years from now will also be autonomous."
