Company expects heavy incentives from Chinese government to drive demand of low-cost EVs

Renault is planning to launch a low-cost electric vehicle (EV) in the Chinese market. The car is expected to have a price tag of just USD8,000 or around CNY54,000, after existing state subsidies. Renault CEO Carlos Ghosn said yesterday (3 November) that the ultimate goal was to sell battery EVs without incentives, reports Reuters.
