US government earmarks $150 million in new grants to repair 4,500 public EV chargers

The funding is part of President Biden’s Investing in America agenda and comes from a new program from the government’s NEVI Formula Program

In an attempt to make the electric vehicle charging infrastructure more reliable, the US government plans to award $150 million in new grants to repair or replace nearly 4,500 existing EV charging ports across 20 states, the US Transportation Department (US DOT) announced Jan. 18.
