Can the rise of EVs propel a push toward speakerless audio systems?
Advantages such as weight and space-saving can make speakerless audio systems a perfect solution for electric vehicles, but the technology is still evolving, and only a few suppliers are known to be working toward it.
Think of any popular car on sale today equipped with a modern sound system — evidently, mounted with anywhere between 15-20 or more speakers, occupying sizable space and adding considerable weight to the overall vehicle. What if the customer gets the same immersive audio or an even better experience without the speakers? A win-win proposition; however, it appears the industry is taking time for this technological shift toward truly speakerless audio. But can the rise of electric vehicles propel a push toward this emerging audio technology?
