Government of Dubai, UAE, plans to expand EV charging network to 1,000 stations by 2025
The number of EV owners registered under DEWA’s EV Green Charger Initiative has increased from just 14 in 2015 to more than 11,000 by end of May 2023
The government of Dubai plans to rapidly expand the existing network of EV charging stations to accelerate the transition to EVs while offering the charging convenience to EV drivers. Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) aims to grow the city’s network of public charging stations from current 370 to 1,000 EV charging stations by 2025, according to a press note released by DEWA on July 9.
