Green steel startup Electra raises USD85 million in new fundraising round

The company’s electrolysis technology allows application of iron ore grades unsuitable for existing green steelmaking technologies.

Colorado-based steel decarbonization startup announced via press release on 6 October that it had raised USD85 million from investors including Breakthrough Energy Ventures, Amazon, BHP Ventures, Temasek, S2G Ventures, Capricorn Investment Group, Lowercarbon Capital, Valor Equity Partners, and Baruch Future Ventures.
