Plastic Omnium acquires Varroc Lighting Systems in order to future proof lighting business

Increasing demand for high-paced technological developments have made consolidations vital to suppliers' capacity to support OEMs with evolving changes. Plastic Omnium’s future offerings can differentiate exterior systems for automakers through the creation of a complete end-to-end lighting value chain.

Plastic Omnium announced the acquisition of tier-1 lighting supplier Varroc's automotive lighting business, Varroc Lighting Systems (VLS), for EUR600 million (USD635.43 million) as part of the company's investments for sustainable growth. VLS’ expertise in advanced lighting solutions in headlamps and rear lamps, innovative technologies in optic system development and electronic control, and software for lighting will help Plastic Omnium to provide turnkey exterior lighting to vehicle manufacturers creating a new lighting division.
