Demand scenario for high-performance cockpit domain controllers
Megatrends such as electrification and autonomous driving are creating demand for multiple displays in vehicles that can be operated using a single, high-performance SoC
The rising trend of multiple high-resolution displays in vehicle interiors is creating a strong demand for a high-performance System-on-Chip (SoC) from OEMs over the next five to six years. This article offers insights from IHS Markit analysts into the key factors that will drive demand for such high-performance chips. In modern vehicles, with consolidated electrical and electronic (E/E) architecture, a single SoC could be required to process a large amount of data, including video feed from multiple cameras, some neural processing in-car audio, and image rendering and output of multiple displays.
