Samsung targets USD20 billion revenue from automotive business by 2025

The company estimates a vehicle will need sensors, electronics and software worth USD2,500 to enable Level 3 autonomy

Samsung Electronics aims to quadruple its revenue from automotive industry to USD20 billion by the middle of the next decade driven by rising electronics and software content per vehicle, Automotive News reported on 16 October citing an interview with the company’s president Young Sohn. “It's not much for Samsung, because we make USD200 billion in revenue,” Sohn told Automotive News on the sidelines of IAA 2017 in Frankfurt in Germany last month. “But I'm hoping that we'll hit USD20 billion by 2025,” he said.
