Samsung Electronics, SK Telecom conduct 4G and 5G network interworking trial in Seoul
Trail showed seamless uninterrupted streaming service when transitioning from 4G to 5G network and vice-versa
Samsung Electronics and SK Telecom have successfully demonstrated interworking of 4G and 5G network technology in Seoul, South Korea, the two companies said in a joint press release last week. The Korean conducted the trail in Eulji-ro area of Seoul, where SK Telecom headquarters is located. The trial used the current 4G LTE commercial network in the 2.6GHz band and a newly-built 5G network using 3.5GHz and 28GHz. In addition, the two partners used a virtualized core and a test device that supports 4G and 5G technologies.
