BorgWarner looks to future-proof powertrain business with acquisition of Delphi Technologies
The acquisition of Delphi Technologies by BorgWarner is expected to create one of the largest pure-play propulsion system companies in the automotive industry. While conventional powertrain will be the major contributor in the short term, in the long term, significant revenue synergy potential is expected from offering fully electrified powertrains
The fast-paced technology developments in the automotive industry has made consolidation almost a necessity to keep pace with the changes, not just in the powertrain domain, but across the industry. We have witnessed a number of consolidations in the form of mergers and acquisitions over the last couple of years and 2020 has started on a similar note.
