Sumitomo Electric’s connectors, cables and subsystem capabilities will be combined with Aquantia’s PHY transceivers for in-vehicle networks to support autonomous driving

Aquantia has entered a strategic partnership with Sumitomo Electric Industries to deliver multi-gigabit (Multi-Gig) Ethernet connectivity solution to the automotive industry, the two companies said in a joint-press release today (13 February). As part of the partnership, Sumitomo Electric’s connectors, cables and subsystem capabilities will be combined with Aquantia’s AQcelerate automotive PHY transceivers for in-vehicle networks (IVNs) to enable new level of autonomous driving. The partnership will allow the two companies to jointly develop new capabilities for Aquantia AQcelerate devices that meet the needs of Sumitomo Electric’s global customers.
