Daimler, Baidu expand strategic partnership in autonomous driving, connectivity
Baidu to strengthen collaboration through its Apollo open autonomous driving platform and integrate Chinese partners connectivity service in MBUX infotainment system
Daimler has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Chinese technology company Baidu to expand cooperation in the areas of autonomous driving and vehicle connectivity, the German automaker said in a press release on 25 July. The two companies agreed to strengthen collaboration through Baidu’s Apollo open autonomous driving platform. Daimler has also decided to integrate Baidu’s connectivity services into the Mercedes-Benz’s MBUX infotainment system.
