Daimler plans to deploy 20 heavy-duty battery electric trucks and set up DC fast chargers

The South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD) has joined forces with Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) to launch a USD31.3-million project to develop and demonstrate 20 heavy-duty battery electric trucks in California, United States, SCAQMD said in a press release early this month. The project is expected to begin later this year with all 20 electric heavy-duty trucks to be in operations by April 2019. Seven of the 20 electric trucks will be deployed at the Ports of Long Beach and Los Angeles.
