Japanese automaker to end production at Sayama plant, relocate manufacturing operations to Yorii plant by March 2022

Honda plans to consolidate vehicle production in Japan as it shifts its focus on electrification and other new technologies, the company said in a press release on 4 October. Under the plan, the Japanese automaker will end vehicle manufacturing at its aging Sayama plant in Saitama Prefecture and consolidate output at its Yorii plant in the same prefecture by March 2022. The company assured that most of its employees at Sayama plant will be transferred to Yorri plant.
