Setting up a station has not proven to be the simplest of endeavors, with several layers of planning and processes before a charging stations can be operationalized. There are multiple stakeholders involved through different stages, each playing an important role in the EV charging value chain. The report analyzes different stakeholders, based on their role in setting up and operations of an EV charging station, and the time it could take to set up a charging station.

Setting up a station has not proven to be the simplest of endeavors, with several layers of planning and processes before a charging stations can be operationalized. There are multiple stakeholders involved through different stages, each playing an important role in the EV charging value chain.

The report analyzes different stakeholders, based on their role in setting up and operations of an EV charging station. The stakeholders are categorized into four segments, namely manufacturing, planning, installation and maintenance support, and operations.

With the complex set of stakeholders involved, and owing to the industry being relatively new, the time taken for a charging station to become operational can vary significantly. Through in-depth discussions with several of the players, S&P Global Mobility analysts have been able to put together the average time taken for installing and commissioning a DC charging station.
