The 2016 Honda Civic is the brand's new crown jewel, showcasing Honda’s ability to take a high-volume, economically friendly vehicle and give it high-end appeal and an engaging user experience. Our tester was a two-door coupe with the 1.5L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine and the Touring Trim level equipment package. The Civic Coupe starts at USD19,150, but the Touring level adds USD7,000, and buyers will get an incredible value, dollar for dollar.
With the Touring edition, buyers get a litany of technology features seldom seen on volume vehicles. Regarding safety, the Honda Sensing System is included with adaptive cruise control, a collision mitigation braking system, lane keeping, lane departure warning, Honda LaneWatch, and a rear parking camera with dynamic guidance lines.
The Touring trim offers an excellent package of infotainment features, including a 450-watt premium audio system with 10 speakers and a subwoofer, a new and improved Android-based navigation system, which features Garmin navigation software (graphical user interface, menus, and speech recognition), as well as Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, direct Pandora integration, SMS text messaging, HD Radio, SXM Radio, and HondaLink, which enables many services and apps when tethered to the owner’s smartphone data plan via wifi.
