The 500L is the first Fiat vehicle to get an implementation of Chrysler Group's new Uconnect 6.5-inch infotainment platform. The 2014 Fiat 500L Trekking model that IHS Automotive recently tested came equipped with this 6.5-inch touchscreen display which adds navigation over the base Uconnect system with a 5.0-inch display. The Uconnect 6.5 system features a very similar interface to the larger 8.4-inch Uconnect systems and was packaged alongside a backup camera and rear parking sensors in the $1,745 MSRP Premier Package in this particular Fiat 500L Trekking.
The Fiat also came with the $700 MSRP Trekking Premier Package Plus Beats package which include SiriusXM Satellite Radio with a 1-year subscription as well as 6 additional Beats-branded speakers plus an additional subwoofer in the trunk floor. With some additional add-ons and packages as well as an $800 delivery charge, this Fiat 500L Trekking arrived with a $26,845 MSRP; a considerable jump from the $21,395 MSRP of a base 500L Trekking. A base Fiat 500L Pop starts at $19,195. While the price is competitive in a segment dominated by the Ford C-Max, Scion xD, Kia Soul, and Mini Countryman, how competitive is the smaller, less feature-rich Uconnect 6.5 system?
