Asahi Kasei Battery Separator Corp. broke ground on its planned new lithium-ion (Li-ion) battery separator manufacturing facility in Port Colborne, Ontario, marking a significant step toward localization of the electric vehicle battery supply chain in North America, the company announced Nov. 18.
