US DOE announces $481 million loan to SK Siltron CCS to expand local production of EV chip materials
The semiconductor manufacturing project is expected to be among the top-five manufacturers of SiC wafers globally
The US Energy Department (US DOE) plans to provide a loan of $544 million to SK Siltron CCS LLC to support the development of local manufacturing capacity for high-quality silicon carbide (SiC) wafers for electric vehicle power electronics, the DOE announced Nov. 12.
