GM moves away from the Ultium brand, aims for EV profitability by year-end and explores different battery chemistries

General Motors (GM) has announced that it will no longer use the Ultium brand name for its electric vehicle batteries and supporting technologies, despite having heavily marketed the name through initiatives including consecutive Super Bowl ads in 2021 and 2022.
