EU rejects mainland China’s proposal on minimum price for imported BEVs

While an average retail price of a battery-electric car in mainland China was about €32,000 in the first half of 2023, the same in Europe was about €66,000

The European Commission has rejected a proposal by the Chinese government on allowing imported made-in-China battery-electric vehicles (BEVs) to be sold at a minimum price of €30,000, according to a news report published by Reuters on Oct. 8.
