Key technologies reshaping sunroof demand in vehicles

Automakers and sunroof suppliers are looking at value enhancement to make sunroofs more attractive in vehicles

Sunroofs remain one of the key aspirational features in new vehicles. Nearly one in every three light vehicle produced in 2023 came equipped with a sunroof system. This share is forecast to further improve over the next six years. According to S&P Global Mobility expectations, automakers will equip 38 million sunroofs in 97 million light vehicles (39%) in 2030, up from 31 million sunroofs in 90 million light vehicles in 2023.
