Despite being a wide bandgap material, gallium nitride (GaN)is expected to be an alternative to silicon in power applications, rather than directly competing with silicon carbide (SiC).
Longer range and faster charging speeds are probably the two most important aspects that prospective owners look for in an electric vehicle. While battery technology is important, power electronics play an equally important role in ensuring these attributes are met in an EV.
