INTERVIEW: Manufacturing solid-state batteries cost-effectively is the biggest challenge, says Sakuu’s Arwed Niestroj
Solid-state batteries (SSB) have long been projected as the next big thing in lithium-ion (Li-ion) batteries that can address most of the technological limitations associated with Li-ion batteries. Many believe that SSBs can change the electric vehicle landscape completely by making EVs a lot more practical and safer. However, the road to mass production of SSBs is still long with several challenges that need to be ironed out. Srikant Jayanthan of S&P Global Mobility spoke with Arwed Niestroj, senior vice president of E-Mobility and Product at Sakuu, one of the leading players in the SSB space, to understand more about the company’s progress and the SSB market overall.
